Negaigoto wo tanzaku ni kaite.
July 7th is Tanabata. Legend has it that two lovers enjoyed each others' company so much that they never worked. The angry gods separated them with a wide river. Once a year, a flock of birds form a bridge so they may cross the river to see each other, but being a bridge of birds, it can only be crossed when skies are clear. The river is the Milky Way, and the lovers are Vega and Altair. If you write your wish on a strip of paper and hang it on bamboo, and the skies are clear, your wish will come true.
So this is what the Pumpkin Princess wrote on her strip of paper.
For the non-Japanese literate, she wants to be Cure Peach, the previously mentioned girl superhero.
I should probably mention that half the girls in her class wanted to be Pretty Cure. And that the Pumpkin Princess apparently got into an argument with a girl in her class over who would be Cure Peach.

Who wants the camera? You or hubby? My boys wanted to be 'Luke Skywalker' or 'Hans Solo'. Different generation, different gender.
All the local day cares and preschools had their bamboo branches displayed at the local shopping mall, and this is the branch decorated by the Pumpkin Day Care. The person who wants a camera is a 3 year-old boy at the Pumpkin Day Care.
Aren't your boys a bit young to be part of the Star Wars craze? Parental influence, perhaps?
All of the Star Wars movies starting with Episode One with Anikin before getting interested in Luke (we bought the trillogy box of tapes before Ep.1 came out), and all of the Harry Potter's too.
Does the Pumpkin House watch 'Thomas the Tank Engine'?
No Thomas the Tank Engine yet. We're entering a Disney Princess Phase (yikes!) coupled with the PreCure stuff, but let me get back to you in a year or two when the Pumpkin Prince decides to have his say.
